I've been crafty...glitter pumpkin project.

Easy Glitter Pumpkin Project How-to

Brush on Modge Podge one section at a time, then sprinkle glitter on that section. Allow to dry for a minute before going to the next section.

The finished product!!! I chose to hot-glue my bow on. You could just as easily tie one. I think tulle would be a cute topper also, but I didn't have the right color on hand.
I really love this pumpkin!!! :)

Cedar Fireplace Wall Project

My husband and I set out to upgrade our fireplace wall on a very limited budget. We lucked out and found bundles of cedar for $9 at a flea market. It turned out very well.

17 years...

Yesterday was our 17th wedding anniversary. Wow. It's so hard to believe that two kids who knew virtually nothing have been able to make it this far. I am very grateful to God for putting Adam in my life and helping us succeed. I have to give Him credit because I literally had no idea at the time what I was doing. lol Nineteen is very young. I see that now. The passage of time has a tendency to reveal these lessons. That's what life is all about, right? Living and learning. What have I learned? Life is short and passes quickly. Something that only living can teach you. That lesson really hit me hard when my dad passed. Gone in a blink. It has helped me understand that so many things are not important enough for us to be fighting about and losing our joy over. Just like in parenting, you have to choose your battles.
I have also learned that my husband is an amazing man. He has grown into such an incredible husband, friend, and partner to me. Not to mention a great father. I am blessed indeed. I really could not ask for more.
So, thank you my dear husband for seventeen wonderful years of marriage. Here's to many, many more. I can't wait for the rest of our lives!!

My father's legacy...

From as far back as I can remember, we were at one ball park or another watching my Daddy play softball. I, like so many others, remember the smell of the dirt, the taste of the cherry icees and nachos, the sound of the bats cracking against the ball and the cheering spectators. It was just a normal part of our lives. My sister and I played in the dirt and the various playgrounds with our friends and cousins. One I remember fairly vividly had a rocket ship slide. We loved playing there. Softball was such a huge part of my dad's life. It actually kept him away from us a lot because he traveled with tournaments. I was too young during his traveling years to really feel the impact of his absence.
Or else my mom just did an excellent job of keeping my mind off it. Lol Who knows? The game was such a big part of his life that he was devastated when he could no longer play due to physical issues. He played well into his 40s.
My Daddy passed away in 2001 at the age of 51. Gone too soon. A few weeks ago his brother called my mom to let us know that Dad had been inducted into the Softball Hall of fame here. What an honor! It is just special that people still remember him and remember his love of the game and his accomplishments. Today we attended his induction. My older sister, her son, my daughter, and I all accepted in his place. It was really special and emotional. Listening to his loooong list of statistics and unbelieveable averages and records set, my mind was blown. I'm very grateful for those who came out to honor him. I love you, Daddy! Congratulations!
P.S. I'm sharing a lot of pictures lol
